ASL is a division of Aquae Sulis (Research) Ltd - a company that has been providing clinical research services to the pharmaceutical industry since 2004.  Ashley and Helen Halls are joint directors of Aquae Sulis Research Ltd.  Denise Grantham provides secretarial support.  Together we aim to provide our clients with a personal but professional service in our respective disciplines.

Profile of Ashley Halls

Director of ASL

 

After gaining a first class honours degree in Fisheries Science and a distinction for his MSc in Applied Marine Science, Ashley Halls joined the Marine Resources Assessment Group (MRAG) in 1992 as a consultant.   He received his PhD in Applied Population Biology from Imperial College in 1998 and went on to work closely with Robin Welcomme as a post doctoral research assistant at the Renewable Resources Assessment Group, developing models to explore the effects of hydrological change on freshwater fish populations.  He was a senior consultant at the MRAG until 2005 when he established ASL. 

 

Since 1992, Ashley Halls has successfully completed more than 30 projects for the Department for International Development (DFID), the European Union, Environment Agency and private clients.  His has worked extensively in south and south-east Asia, Africa and Europe and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, the FAO Fisheries Technical Paper Series, books, conference proceedings and donor newsletters.
